Bernie is easily one of those most influential politicians in modern history. He is an essential voice in one of the most tumultuous and challenging times in our nation’s history. I’m grateful for his clarity and consistency, and his passion for advocacy. https://twitter.com/cbsnews/status/1247916525715165185
And I get that Bernie dropping out is a kick in the gut. He got so close this time. It really does suck. And I get that he would have shined on a debate stage with Trump.

But the “he was the only one that could have beat Trump takes” are simply not true whatsoever.
Biden is not my guy and never has been, but I promise you that Trump is nervous about him. It’s the reason he blackmailed the Ukrainian President in order to try and knee cap Biden early on. Biden performs really well in the states that were crucial to Trump’s 2016 win.
Biden is 2 points behind Trump in Texas. Fucking Texas.

And Trump is going to have to spend the next several months explain how his administration fucked coronavirus up so bad that it tanked our economy. He really did fuck this up monumentally. His road ahead will be difficult.
So. In closing. When Bernie spends the next several months warning you of the dangers of a second Trump term, when he tells you how important it is to get out and vote in November, I’d really suggest that you listen to him. He is absolutely right about that. /fin
