I love how dramatic babies are about everything. The moment I un-swaddle my daughter in the morning, she throws her arms in the air as if to say "hallelujah, it's a new day!" Her joy turns to despair as she realizes she is, in fact, starving to DEATH, and must sob uncontrollably.
The moment the milk hits her tongue and she closes her eyes in sheer ecstasy, drunk with pleasure. But as soon as she's done eating, this turns to horror and rage as she slowly realizes she has, in fact, shit her pants.
Post diaper change she settles into a brief period of ease before realizing that it is well past nap time and can't these fools see she's tired? This is conveyed with a sudden onset of hysteria, which is only resolved with swaddling and shushing to sleep. The cycle begins again.
