Hey, yo, fellow SFF author peeps. If you debuted in Sci-Fi or Fantasy (or both) from a major or medium sized publisher within the last 7 years or so, can you reply to this with the word count of your debut novel and its subgenre?
Noumenon, 2017, is sci-fi and ended up at 124k when published, I think.
Oops, asked for subgenres then forgot to put mine. Space Opera.
(watched a thread elsewhere absolutely devolve into nuttiness over some weird prescriptivism about the word count lengths agents and publisher are willing to accept as SFF debuts, so I thought a thread with real-world numbers might help illustrate the range.)
Gonna tag in some peeps (word count thread, y'all) @AndreaGStewart @MeganEOKeefe @marshallmaresca @RoanhorseBex @kuangrf @nickydrayden
Also people following the thread, please don't reply to this particular tweet, don't need to flood inboxes.

Oh shoot, I should have specifically mentioned age group too. Makes a big difference if it's middle grade, young adult, or adult.
