Leading the @TeenageCancer team is one of the joys of my life. They are amazing, resourceful, kind and compassionate people - and never more so than this week.

Like so many charities we are facing a challenging financial position due to #Coronavirus 1/8
The need for our vital & expert support has increased, right as funding has plummeted.

Young people with cancer already face extreme isolation and anxiety - they have never needed us more and we have never had less income coming in... 2/8
...we're not alone in facing escalating need at the same time as income has halved - this is why the #EveryDayCounts campaign is so vital - vulnerable people and communities across the UK need charities to be there when no-one else can... 3/8
We've launched an emergency appeal for funds and the supporters who are stepping up to help are all legends - I've never loved you more (and I have ALWAYS loved supporters a lot!)...but we're £millions short and must protect our frontline delivery... 4/8
So we're making extensive use of the furlough scheme and changing the working pattern - and pay - of those who are not on furlough (including my remarkable Senior Leadership Team willingly leading the way)… 5/8
The compassion and kindness that has been the over-riding response to these changes has been humbling and inspiring...so many people telling me we must put young people first so we can be here for them now and in the future... 6/8
I could not be prouder of the team - and want to send my enormous and heartfelt thanks to all of them - whether in the charity or on the frontline of the NHS we are #OneTeam - determined, united, spirited & kind and, most of all, driven by the needs of young people with cancer 8/8
