COVID-19
Signs and Symptoms

I’m suffering right now. I was diagnosed by NHS 111 but I have not had a coronavirus test.

I’m posting this not for any sympathy but so others can know first hand what to keep an eye out for.

I live in Bristol in the UK.

I’m 54 and I am the most positive person I know; I love people and I love life.

So I’m definitely not one of those drama queens. Just a bit of context! 😃

Day 1 was Sat 4th April.

I had a splitting headache in the centre of my forehead and a dry cough. The cough wasn’t actually that bad.

I had felt very cold for a few days beforehand. But no temperature.
4/

Then my nose, that was so weird. It was sore & felt moist but none of the usual snot or mucus like when you have a cold.

It really hurt when I blew my nose. It hurts to sniff too. It’s almost a bit like feeling when water goes up your nose the wrong way when your swimming!

There’s not been any mucus but my nose has felt bunged up making it hard to breathe through my nose.

This is like nothing I’ve ever suffered before. It feels like I’m being invaded; one microbe at a time. I sort of felt it building up as it took over. So strange & scary.

I’ve read about how the virus tricks our immune system into helping it replicate & it was as if I could feel that process in action.

I’ve had aches & pains especially in the kidney area of my lower back & my chest is tight.
7/

Breathing is more laboured but not too bad overall.

My wife & daughter (17) had fewer symptoms & got their’s about 12 days ago. So ahead of mine.
They lost their taste & smell totally about 10 days ago and it’s still not back.

I lost my taste and smell yesterday morning so I think I’m about 9 days behind them.

I am shattered, not much energy, feeling pretty wiped out.

I am drinking loads of water. About a pint glass an hour. I’m also taking long, deep breaths. And taking paracetamol too.

I’ve always started each day with some meditation and I’ve focused that on healing & guiding my immune system to get in there and fight this virus.

That too feels to have helped.

I’m a big fan of @DrJoeDispenza
and how he advocates teaching our mind to take control.

It’s Day 5 today. I’m aching in my back and neck and I have a bad headache and nose is still blocked.
Chest still tight and I feel drained of energy.

But feeling pretty upbeat.
