Let’s talk about how shady @WeWork is being. I share an office there w/ two writers. As of mid March when @NYGovCuomo began asking people to self isolate, we stopped going. We are a non-essential business. But WeWork refuses to freeze our membership. Instead they RAISED our rent.
They also charged a yearly fee which according to their contract they can do at their discretion. So they chose a pandemic when nonessential ppl can’t travel on the subway, bus, or taxi. @WeWork has also cut back amenities from our location, which the offices south of Harlem have
Right now, the @WeWork offices are open to businesses that have filed as essential. Even if we wanted to GO to the office, if we were jerks who didn’t care about public safety, we can’t GET there. WeWork can’t provide the service, but they are charging full fees. That’s wrong.
What other NYC business are taking advantage of their members like this? Gyms have frozen their fees since people can’t travel and go there. @NYDailyNews @HuffPost @amNewYork @NY1
