sometimes i see tweets from leftist twitter about how bernie should have/ still should run as a third party and i just wonder if they really understand what that means. yes he’s trying to become president but both in 2016 and 2020 it’s been about beating back donald trump

i imagine he would sooner drop out and endorse joe biden than run as a third party candidate and hurt biden in a general election. it seems silly and a little immature to say that bernies chances would be exponentially better as a third party candidate

why do you think he ran in the primary in the first place? it was to get the backing of the huge democratic base and build a coalition. if he runs outside of that he takes the liberal vote and probably nothing else
