IHME updated and released its Wuhan coronavirus model again this morning. It significantly revised down projected daily hospital usage and projected deaths. As you can see below, IMHE's model of hospital usage has been utterly divorced from reality from the very beginning.
IHME also drastically revised downward its estimate of total deaths due to the Wuhan coronavirus. On April 1, it predicted 93,530 Americans would die. On April 5, it predicted 81,766 Americans would die. Its latest model predicts 60,415 total U.S. deaths.
IHME now predicts the new daily death peak will be on April 12.
PSA: Every version of the IHME model already assumed "full social distancing," so you can go ahead and delete whatever response you were typing about how social distancing explains the need for drastic model revisions day after day after day.
