On this day, in 2002, I was attacked and sexually assaulted in my 1st floor apartment in the middle of the night. I was awaken by him taking the phone off the hook and letting the “your call can not be completed” message repeat in my ear. 1/4

I am tired of @VCDL_ORG and @NRA pushing a false narrative that firearms ensure women’s safety. I would have literally had to be sleeping on top of my gun that night for it to save me. 2/4

I also 100% believe that if I had my weapon with me that night, and not locked up, I would not be here telling this story, or maybe telling a very different one. It ended in a fist fight and him fleeing. 3/4
