John Carpenter’s “The Quarantine."
people joke about how scary “Contagion” and “Outbreak” seem right now, but that’s off. those films are silly. the really scary ones right now are “Alien” and “The Thing,” both of which deal with the paranoia of being stuck in one place with the threat of the deadly unknown.
i may not have a flamethrower, but i do have a can of lysol and a BIC lighter.
i mean, for real, everyone but Ripley dies in “Alien” because they ignore her explicit quarantine guidelines.
why would you have a flamethrower on a space ship?
