Ok my take on the klopp/mané issue: what he said was definitely wrong and it made me rlly sad bc I do love jurgen so much..this is literally the barrier most black atheletes face from becoming professionals and it is so prevalent today. But I’m not gonna sit here and call Klopp-
- a racist because I refuse to believe a man who coaches one of the most amazingly diverse teams ever has an underlying racist character. He has constantly talked about why racism has no place in football or the wider world & this is the first time we’ve seen allusion to racial-
- stereotyping by him. But most of all I think we’re all mature enough to realise ppl make mistakes and can change?? And he literally admitted to that in the quote. I’d like to think understand he was wrong changed his perspective for the better and since then he’s had a-
- different outlook. I just know tho that rivals are gonna take this as an opportunity to frame him as a through and through racist but yh. I hope this doesn’t make me seem oblivious and determined to make liverpool seem perfect bc Im not and this is serious and should be talked-
- about, but we don’t know the full story, and we don’t know anything about Jurgen apart from what he’s shown us in having pride in diversity and love for his whole team and other poc players. And like I said, ppl make mistakes and change bc of it - cancel culture is bs :)
