Football isn't the priority just now when you see these horrific coronavirus death figures but the game does at least provide a distraction from the horrible situation we are having to live through just now.

My thoughts on SPFL proposal...
Clearly clubs need prize money now.

Despite widespread furloughing, that much is clear. A proposal could be devised whereby the 30 clubs outwith the Premiership vote in favour of getting that cash based on where they are now.
Games are shelved until it is safe to play. There is also an agreed understanding that there is no extra money available; so if you get prize money for being 3rd but finish second when matches are played, that's just one of those things.
I appreciate there is the issue of contracts expiring and someone with better knowledge than me of how that would work, while there is furloughing etc, can perhaps advise. There will be solutions if we're creative.
Also, I have huge sympathy for Partick Thistle in particular. I don't want Queens to be 'saved' and them to go down like this. It could have easily been the other way round given our poor form and results.
Finally, I'm not sure I see a situation playing out whereby the 20-21 season can start in July. Personally, I feel we will be lucky to get going by September. I would understand the desire to reach a resolution quickly if there was a GUARANTEE that...
...season 20-21 would start roughly on time. But there isn't. Because there can't be. Not at this stage anyway. The whole thing is a horrible mess but we can buy time by distributing money based on league placings now.
As for the Premiership, it looks like FIFA and UEFA are the driving forces behind completing season 19-20 so it really is a case of wait and see for them which, on balance, I think is correct for now.
But as I said, football's football. Hundreds of people are dying every day and folks' working and personal lives are being turned upside down. Jobs are going and pay cuts are being implemented. It's a nightmare for us all.
