As of Tues aft - AFTER Schefter am report - the Cowboys had not made any arrangement for Jerry and Stephen 'to be together at home' for the draft.

Goodell's memo is clear: Team officials wll draft FROM THEIR OWN HOMES. Jerry and Stephen don't live in the same home. This ain't 'The Waltons.'

If the #Cowboys deserve examination for trying to use a surname/family edge, ESPN should also do a quick study of other NFL teams run by families. Or, hell, I guess I'll just do it. ...

#Bengals. The top four execs are 'Browns.' Son and Father "Tobin'' big in personnel.

#Bears - Of the top eight execs, seven have the last name "McCaskey.'' Hey, that's "not fair!''

#Chiefs. We know that head coach Andy Reid is literally down in his basement. But maybe ESPN should report that a Kansas City assistant coach named "Britt Reid" has been bringing snacks down to his dad?

#Giants. A "Mara'' is on top. Then come 2 "Tisch.'' Then comes another "Mara.'' He's Chris Mara, "Senior VP, Player Personnel,'' a high-pressure deal - except that Chris is also listed as part of the ownership group.

The Giants are run kinda like the Cowboys? Who knew!

#Lions. The top four folks are "Fords.''

#Patriots. Bill Belichick is only one of three Belichicks on that staff. If Schefter is suggesting a certain NFL team might be temped to cheat ... wouldn't THIS be that team?

#Raiders. Jon Gruden is the head coach, assisted by a trusty youngster named "Deuce Gruden.''

#Seahawks. Head coach Pete Carroll's offensive staff includes Brennan Carroll (Run Game Coordinator) and Mike Carroll (WR coach).

#Vikings. The top four execs are named "Wilf.'' Then comes Mike Zimmer, the head coach, assisted by a co-defensive coordinator who happens to be his son, and offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak, assisted by a young fell who happens to be his son.

#Steelers (and then, I promise, I'll stop). Arthur J. Rooney II is the President. Arthur J. Rooney Jr. is the Vice President. "Well, that's just ownership,'' you might say. Nope. Dan Rooney Jr. is the Player Personnel Coordinator; the Rooneys own it all.

OK. Is that it? No. And I'll just stick with the Steelers: Kevin Colbert is the Vice President and General Manager, and somebody named "Dan Colbert'' - yes, yes, the GM's son - works in scouting.

See the point? The #Cowboys are THE MOST PROMINENT 'family-run NFL team.' But they are far from alone.

#Cowboys aren't trying to con anybody. Not (yet?) a 'cheat.' They're trying to gather info/understand rules - and then we'll see. But theyre no more justified/likely to do so than Mara Ford Rooney Reid Zimmer Browns Carroll Belichick.
