Bostonians, we are living in a media bubble. While local news crashes and burns across the country, we're getting first-rate #COVID19 coverage from our news organizations. (1/x)
I'll start with the @BostonGlobe, which is offering the most comprehensive coverage. Some of it's free, as is its @bostondotcom site and the world-class (though not local) @statnews. (2/x)
Next up are the region's public broadcasters, @wbur and @wgbhnews (disclosure: I'm a paid contributor to GBH). The @bostonherald and the nonprofit @CommonWealthMag are doing good work as well, even though both have tiny staffs. (3/x)
Local television news coverage has been serious and timely. The only hole is community news — it's good here and there, but @Gannett has a stranglehold on too many cities and towns. (4/x)
Compared to many other parts of the country, Greater Boston is being well served at this unimaginably difficult time. (5/5)
And one more: How could I leave out @universalhub, where Adam Gaffin expertly rounds up local news from hundreds of sources? (6/5)
