One of the reasons #Kepa has struggled is his inability to save 1v1s.
He’s faced 14 1v1s & only saved 2 (PSExG suggests an avg PL GK would have saved ~7!)
The major problem is his decision making he’s only made the optimal decision 21% of the time (PL Avg 55%!)

#Kepa regularly rushes off his line & ends up in no mans land when facing 1v1s gifting the striker a simple side foot finish from the edge of the box.
#Kepa needs to stay deeper & trust his ability as there’s no way a side foot from 18yrds would beat him if he was on his line.

#DeGea & #Ryan are examples of two goalkeepers who are great at this. They rarely panic when a striker is closing in & stay deep until the striker gets so close to goal that they know they cannot react in time & therefore must rush & spread.

#Kepa also often stays too deep when the ball falls to strikers in & around goal when the optimum decision would be to rush out & spread as it’s impossible to react in time when the shot is from such close range. #CFC #GKUnion
#Ederson & #Schmeichel are great examples of goalkeepers who excel in these situations & get off their line quickly & spread efficiently in front of the opposition strikers.
