We all start from different places but the basic requirements: any camera, some friends, a way to edit, ambition, humility. Join festivals or show it online. Whatever gets noticed becomes your calling card. 2/5
Film school not required (but go if u can). Just keep learning. From books, videos, your idols, your mistakes. Don& #39;t be afraid to mess up. I keep messing up all the time. Not even sure I should be giving career advice tbh. 3/5
Anxiety is an obstacle, but if getting a filmmaking career means the world to you, you& #39;ll learn to ride that anxiety (hopefully it& #39;s not the pathological kind) even if you never get rid of it completely. I& #39;ve made my own anxieties manageable over time. Still have them though. 4/5
All the usual stuff for "making it" applies: talent, hard work, etc. But DUMB LUCK is also a big factor. So find ways to improve your odds by any means necessary. Just be nice to people at every turn. Be grateful. And never ever take yourself seriously. 5/5
