[Thread] How to effectively respond to journalist requests on Twitter.

1) Twitter is your best online platform to find journalist requests; use the hashtag #journorequest
2) Respond as Requested - Once you have found a relevant request; tweet the journalist or if they have requested a DM then be sure to follow their tweet’s request.
3) Be Quick to Answer - Be quick to answer their request - they normally have a tight deadline so don’t leave it too late!
4) If the journalist is happy with what you are pitching they would normally prefer you to email them with more information/images to help them with their story.
5) In your email be clear in the subject line - I usually ensure the subject line states that this is a Twitter request followed by the subject they are covering.
6) Include Relevant Information - Ensure your journalist request has all the relevant information such as your name, title, company, email address and website. A journalist wants to make sure that they are quoting a relevant source.
7) Make it Easy for Journalists Be sure to have correctly attached all the information to the email as a journalist doesn’t have a lot of time to go back and forth.
8) Offer to provide more information at the end of your email which lets them feel more comfortable to email you again.
9) Show your Credibility - Reference other features from credible sites; this will help add to your credibility.
10) Offer to provide more information at the end of your email which lets them feel more comfortable to email you again.
