The results are in! I asked folks how #stayathome is affecting their exercise habit. The vast majority say YES their exercise has been impacted.

Many active people (41%) report a decline in physical activity.

Some advice! 1/x
Staying active during #stayathome is hard! Ideas:

✅ Create both inside 🏠and outdoor 🌞exercise plans so you always have a plan B.
✅ When time ⌚️is tight, reduce the duration of workouts to make it easier to fit it in
✅Find/create exercise support online (FB group)

✅Engage family in exercise-- OR if they are a barrier, disengage them. 😲 It may be easier to go it alone.
✅Build social time into exercise (eg, a phone walking date)📱
✅Use a training plan for structure (e.g., Couch to 5K)
✅Get friends to connect on an exercise app

✅Schedule exercise into the day like an appt 📆
✅Ask family to help you protect your exercise time and do the same for them.
✅Find inspiration online. Love @arghavan_salles yoga vids!
✅Learn a TikTok dance with the kiddos (those dances are a workout!)

✅Set & write down an exercise goal for each week-- and a bigger goal for 8 weeks from now.
✅Track the immediate impact of exercise on your stress😱 mood 😟and sleep 😴 Seeing these improve is motivating.
✅If current workout is unavailable, experiment with something new. 5/x
✅It may be worth putting dirty dishes, piles of laundry, and a living room that=natural disaster 🌪️ on pause if it frees up time for self-care.

✅IF ALL ELSE FAILS, it's OK to put exercise on guilt-free pause ✋for now. Pick a day next week to revisit an exercise plan.
