My mum worked as a Community nurse for @NHSuk for 30yrs+, she didn’t get a pay rise for 6yrs. She wasn’t an ’angel‘ she was a professionally trained woman, providing a vital service in a sector which has been consistently sold off by @ConHome and threatened w cuts for decades.1/5
But still the country voted for those cuts. Our country voted to allow the cuts to go ahead to our healthcare system which added to healthcare employees stress, stress on the service itself, the employees family members and the country. 2/5
Though I can understand the need to give people working tirelessly under this current situation a godly characteristic right now, I think it’s important we see and address them as skilled and trained professionals.3/5
If we do this then maybe the country won’t stand in solidarity with a government who is intent on killing off its NHS and it’s workers, that sells their people’s care system off like pieces of dead carcass to feed their billionaire friends.4/5
In that way maybe we’ll fight to be governed by a party of people
who respects our healthcare professionals, reflected through their pay and not a hand clap on a step of Downing Street. Clapping is nothing.
PAY and respect is everything. #NHS
