Real talk on painting Magic: the Gathering lands:

Forest > Mountain > Island > Plains > Swamp

That& #39;s my ranking of how easy/good they are to paint. Let me explain:

Forests are easy. Lots of color variety. Cool shapes. Not a lot of difficulty. Trees are the shit.
Mountains are also easy. Paint something kinda rocky and boom--you& #39;ve got yourself a mountain. Just don& #39;t paint too much water and you& #39;ve got nothing to worry about here.
Islands start to get tricky.

Are you painting an island or just a coastline? That& #39;s a tough question.

Generally pretty easy, they& #39;re kinda tough because you start to have to paint an ocean and I& #39;ve always found that difficult.
Plains are really hard.

Having vertical elements in a landscape make it a lot easier to paint. But you can& #39;t have too much of that in a plains. Can& #39;t have big mountains or forests or anything.

So you& #39;re kinda left with... clouds? That& #39;s what I usually do, anyway.
Swamps are really, really hard.

Too many roots/trees? Oops it& #39;s a forest.

Too much swampy water? Shit it& #39;s an island now.

Put a mountain in there for something vertical? Nope.

So yeah, swamps are the hardest. It& #39;s official.

Hey @TitusLunter you should make your own list like this. I& #39;d be curious if we overlap at all.
