Just a reminder that the President, First Lady, and Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee have all voted by mail already this year. They just don't want to afford you the right to vote in a way that won't risk your life. https://twitter.com/thehill/status/1247860493076672515
Oh, btw, Vice President Mike Pence voted by mail in 2018. Twice. Once in the primary, once in the general election. But I'm sure he'll feel completely safe voting in person in the Indiana primary in June, especially since his boss says voting by mail is fraudulent.
It appears the President's chief economic advisor, Larry Kudlow, has voted by mail at least 13 times in the past 20 years. Will he vote in person in Connecticut in the June primary election, as his boss would want for all Americans?
Former WH Comms Director Stephanie Grisham appears to have voted by mail in the 2016 general election, a reasonable thing to do given that she was working on the Trump campaign at the time but something the President doesn't want you to be able to do during this pandemic.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper voted by mail in 2016, just as hundreds of thousands of military personnel serving overseas have done in the past and will need to do in the future. Surely the President won't refuse them this right now?
Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross has voted by mail or early 15 times in the last 15 years, including the Florida primary last month. A prudent decision for a senior citizen, especially during a pandemic. His boss believes that right shouldn't be extended to all Americans.
Alex Azar, Secretary of Health and Human Services and a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, voted by mail in Indiana in 2018. Surely the Task Force wouldn't recommend that Americans be forced to crowd into polling places in November?
Okay, I'll stop flooding your feeds. The point is, the President seems to be worried he'll lose his reelection bid if people are allowed to vote by mail as he and so many in his administration have. But affording Americans the right to vote safely shouldn't be a partisan issue.
