We need to examine why, as white capitalism collapses & kills as many as it can in the process, ppl are so eager for a white male savior figure to fill the role of white patriarch & maintain order (not justice). It was Bloomberg then Biden then Fauci then Cuomo all in past month.

We can’t keep asking why things don’t change unless we’re willing to have honest examination of how much people cling to their idealizations of whiteness & anti-Black racism.

It’s not only that we are being killed generation after generation by USA’s white supremacist system, it’s a cultural tradition that people refuse to let go. People seem to breathe a sigh of relief & take comfort in reinforcing the racial caste & watching Black ppl suffer & die.

The horrific reality that COVID-19 outbreak will needlessly kill thousands of Black Americans due to the effects of structural racism doesn’t disturb people nearly as much as the disruption it causes for capitalism. This has always been the case. It’s the tradition of slavery.

I want to be clear that when I’m saying this, I’m talking about American culture at large, not just white identifying people. Everyone moves in this society according to the racial caste system. That’s why people get uncomfortable when it’s challenged & they seek to reinforce it.

A part of reinforcing white capitalism has been this sad display of people jumping from prominent white man to prominent white man, desperately searching for a new white patriarchal figure to replace Trump & restore order as the system collapses under the weight of its own racism

The fact that we’ve cycled through several white savior figures in just the past month or so from “Bloomberg can do it” to “I’m a Cuomosexual” is a clear indication the system is collapsing but folks are scared to see it go.

We also shouldn’t overlook the fact that, as we see COVID-19 ravage Black communities, it’s primarily been Black organizers and voters propping up any Democratic opposition to Trump. Yet it’s still understood by everyone that a white man must be at the helm, the white patriarch.
