NDS Director-General Saraj explained that some Taliban prisoners, involved in large-scale attacks against civilian targets and linked to international terrorist groups, pose a threat to the national security of Afghanistan and its allies if released.
ONSC has sought @AfghanistanIHRC’s input on the list of prisoners and the release mechanism, approving for implementation some of AIHRC’s recommendations on the rights of the victims of Taliban attacks.
NSA @hmohib said that the rights of victims – Afghan or otherwise – are important to Afghanistan. He invited the ambassadors to engage the ONSC if they have questions on this matter.
