#SocialDistancing Thread

We’re about to explain how 13 @GreggsOfficial sausage rolls and the hit TV series #TigerKing can help keep your taps flowing and toilets flushing during the #CoronaVirus lockdown, ok?

Here we go.
Our teams who are out on the ground keeping the water flowing during #CoronaVirus are key workers.

They’re out there to make sure that our customers’ taps keep running and toilets keep flushing. 🚽🚰

Pretty essential stuff right?
They’re telling us that when they’re out working, people aren’t keeping the suggested safe distance from them.

Now, whether this is because they want to come & say hi, thank the teams OR have a look down that big hole we’ve just dug.

It’s just not safe at the minute.
We all have to stay safe during these testing times and to help protect our key workers then we need everyone to keep at least 2 metres away from our people when they’re out working.
So how do we all judge 2 metres you ask?

Ah well, we know that sadly not everyone carries rulers or tape measures or trundle sticks around with them anymore (those were the days!).

And so...
We’ve come up with a really useful way to help you successfully and accurately judge what 2 metres (or 6.56 foot) actually is.

In real terms. For real life.

So here goes:
2 metres is around 13 Greggs sausage rolls laid end to end.

6.5ft of golden brown delicious flakey safetyness. Mmmmm.
2 metres is pretty much the height of a door.

Any door.

Specifically the door at the front of your own home that should be locked and that you shouldn’t be passing through (unless for essentials!)
2 metres is the size of your typical fridge.

That’s the thing that you keep going to and opening roughly every 30 minutes while you’re working from home.
2 metres is about the length of an Indochinese tiger.

Imagine one of these in @stocktoncouncil high-street if you can.

Also, if you’ve watched #TigerKing you’ll definitely want to keep your distance.
2 metres is the average length of a couch.

Where you now spend most of your days.

Becoming more commonly known as the ‘home office’.
...So there you have it. You can now successfully judge 2 metres.

And as much as you might want to high 5 our awesome key worker teams when they’re out there. You can’t. For now.

A cheery wave, fist pump or thumbs up will do perfect.
