At the @DataSciCampus many of us are also parents dealing with the unexpected challenge of home-schooling children of all ages. Here's some free home-schooling #DataScience resources we've seen (note - these are not endorsements, other products are available, etc, etc) 1/9
The folks at @DataLabScotland have a range of programmes for schools, with resources for pupils & parents now double-jobbing as teachers! There's videos, case-studies & interactive tools for students (including the Wizarding network of Harry Potter) 2/9 https://www.thedatalab.com/schools/
Staying in Scotland, @Digimap4Schools have made their geospatial learning platform for younger kids free. For teaching mathematical reasoning and problem solving for early years, primary and secondary children, NRICH @nrichmaths have a great set of resources 4/9 https://nrich.maths.org/
For learning coding skills Scratch @scratch is obviously a great place to start for younger children, with a range of at-home activities 5/9 https://sip.scratch.mit.edu/scratchathome/
For introductions to more advanced coding then @GirlsWhoCode have a range of free activities, and each activity also highlights women in tech who pioneered innovative technology 6/9 https://girlswhocode.com/code-at-home/
Back in the UK the @Stemettes have launched a series of webinars and online tutorials in a wide range of subjects, as part of their goal "to inspire the next generation of females and nonbinary people into STEM fields" 7/9 https://stemettes.org/onlineevents/
This list is far from exhaustive, these are definitely not formal endorsements & we haven't reviewed all the material, and other providers & services are available. Its just a group of free resources that we've come across as parents, data scientists and unexpected educators! 8/9
