In this event @BellRibeiroAddy complains "it's very strange" that the pictures we've all seen in the newspapers of doctors and nurses fighting Covid-19 were of "a completely white group of people". Is anyone really poring over pics to scrutinise the skin colour behind the PPE?

Another speaker, an activist from Goldsmiths, objects that "in the Western press there's been a lot of criticism levelled at...the Chinese state...and it's very rare to see any positive news coming from China"...

Goldsmiths activist continues that "in Western media you see a lot of accusations that China is covering up this or that" which she claims is "very much in contrast to the actual data that shows China has actually been handling the crisis very well".

She concludes later on that it's important to show solidarity with Iran and Venezuela, because obvs, what else is there to do right now.

I forgot - the praise for China during this event included the activist from Goldsmiths' warm words for the Chinese state providing "free healthcare...free, fair and equal, [which] would respect religious and cultural norms". That's the Chinese state which oppresses the Uighurs
