An easy way to convert your patients HbA1c results from % to mmol/l in line with SI units.
Subtract 2 from the value, and 2 from what you get.
E.g If value was 10%, then 10-2 =8, 8-2=6, which makes your result 86mmol/l.
If your value was 8% that equates 64mmol/l.
For decimal points, add the points to the final answer.
E.G 12.5 = 12-2 =10, 10-2 = 8, then add 5 to 108 = 113mmol/mol.
For Values >14, add 1 and 0 to the first digit of your answer. So 14= 14-2 =12, 12-2 10. Add 1 to 12 = 13 and zero =130.
Unit is mmol/mol nt mmol/l. * typo.🙏
