Fear may appear to have the upper hand these days, but that's a lie. God on the throne. I John 4:18 says, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." (Thread)
God's truth is the solid rock on which we stand when our world is on lockdown. It's stronger than any virus, and more potent than any vaccine. His promises have more longevity than the latest headlines, and more power than any government authority.
While we are inundated with information and talking points, God's peace simplifies our focus.

Let's remember to go to Him with our requests. While we continue to pray for those who are sick, here are a few more concerns I'm taking to God:
* Wise, data-driven solutions to reopen our economy and get people back to work.
* Interpersonal relationships that are feeling increased strain during this new normal.
* The unemployed who are trying to make ends meet.
* Those who live alone and are starved for company.
* People who are turning to alcohol and drugs to pass the time.
* Your church leadership and church family. Online worship is nice in a pinch, but it's no substitute for public gatherings.
#COVID19 has the potential to devastate beyond just the physical, and that reality must keep us on guard. However, the anxiety surrounding it does not have to engulf us. God's promises always have the final say. #WednesdayWisdom (End thread)
