#coronavirusUK #COVID19 #COVID19UK #coronavirusUSA #AsyptomaticContagion ⬅️ I Spelt this wrong🤦‍♂️
Some of the comments in this thread deserve wider coverage https://twitter.com/mugecevik/status/1236293224756641792
When quoting any unproven medical advice: the words Caveat, ‘may’, ‘unproven’, ‘off label’ are always wise words re quoting ‘non peer reviewed’ un published, non clinical trials in respected journals: Case reports, editorials, opinions not strong science.

Speaking in absolutes is potentially harmful. All advice that is not backed by a wealth of scientific evidence can cause more harm than good, no matter how well intentioned.
To be clear, hydroxychloroquine & chloroquine ‘May’ offer benefits & an open label study carried out within weeks. Also with ZPack
1. Control arm: placebo (patients in hospitals now)
2. HQ Arm
3. HQ + ZPack arm
Multi centre to gain statistical power, similar patients in all arms
My issue is not with the information but how it is presented as fact! Something I never did with any of my posts.
This is a recent example! but shows the need for caution
As a counterpoint:
Someone here speaking in absolute! With ‘can’ but does recover with ‘could’
Bad science plus where do we draw the line on what to try? https://twitter.com/lukecoutinho17/status/1248647852060000256
We all want a cure as fast as possible! There is no doubt. We all want to give people hope in dark & worrying times. We also don’t want people self medicating based on poor advice so there is a need to temper those conflicting needs
Sadly, someone that I really liked, had a very high regard for, misread my tweets then came at me publicly when I pointed out ‘my side’. Accused me of hoarding masks (not true) & tried to defame me! Something I wont tolerate!. A simple ‘sorry’ would have saved this
I realise that one possible explanation may been due to the fact that my many direct cc’s were not seen as no confirmation with a ‘like’ 🤷‍♂️. Thus is the issues of twitter. I had tried to flag the danger of this since Jan, had tiny input into JHU tracker & worried for people....
That were not taking this seriously.
I flagged ‘considered’ reporting from local MSM, called out the use of fake data by US & UK Gov: called out ‘experts’ politicking & even wrote an email to an ‘expert’ saying ‘no need for masks’ which I signed with my own name.
Unsurprisingly, I received no reply to my email. I do intend to follow up, once the narrative shifts to a need for masks. https://twitter.com/piehead9/status/1242401024528330753

I write this as the U.K. has reported from "Nearly 1,000" (trending)
to now confirmed 1,000 deaths in one day
I hope this gets read by the intended recipient, is not seen as an attack but a defence of my situation. & also the people that were not aware of what I have been trying to achieve
