It’s a personal opinion, but I do find this insta live behaviour disconcerting.
Black men in hip hop have gone on live to battle each other as producers/songwriters/artists. Black women such as Missy Eliot (a master of all three) hasn’t been invited to do so.

Whereas the opportunity has only been given for them to twerk and perform crassness (lets call a spade a spade). Johnni Blaze is a musical savant, she can play every instrument to a very high level, but all we’re seeing is her pouring milk on her bum, it’s not fair.
It’s also very embarrassing that Facebook has had to step in to ban this stuff, because it is embarrassing and women do deserve better.
Maybe I’m not the best messenger, and yes it’s fun, but in this period of isolation, all we’ve done is reinforce hyper sexual stereotypes of BW

I would like men in hip hop to utilise their privilege to give black women in hip hop the opportunity to showcase their craft.
Scott Storch (an undisputed legend, and white man) gave us one of the best live clashes. I would like black women to get the same opportunity he got.

Two things can be true:
Duffy

Jhonni

But one is a DJ and should be clashing other DJs on the VERSUS platform Timberland and Swizzbeats have created in Instagram. The other should be capitalising on this moment to display her amazing musical talent.

As much as we can pretend these women have a choice, not really. Tory made
Teen Radio for that purpose and quite frankly if you don’t twerk everyone wants you off. VERSUS invited people to clash, so that opportunity is offered, and from I’ve seen no BW have received an offer.

I may be innacurate, and Da Brat/Kim/Missy might be loading some clashes up for us right now.
I know how happy I felt for T-Pain when he was up over the weekend, and I’d like my favourite black female artists to experience the same
