the problem with centring privileged voices in media rn is that this pandemic is fundamentally not affecting our lives in the same way as people stuck in tower blocks, prisons, who have had disability benefits cut by austerity, single mothers at home with kids etc
I know everyone is sick to death of 'privilege' discourse but it feels no more relevant than during this time. our abilities to isolate, our access to supplies, our ability to walk up to the shops... these things fluctuate massively even if the virus "doesn't discriminate"
and this relates to how much 'human' empathy is given to boris. this government played with the lives of mostly migrant NHS workers who are dying on the frontlines. people don't wanna feel forced to empathise with those in power
basically I think everybody is allowed to feel how they want to feel about this crisis as things get worse. BUT take it with a pinch of salt coming from a champagne socialist like me or any of the middle class alleged commies on twitter lol
