We can talk about COVID-19 and how it's impacting Black communities. We should. It just requires care and rigorous journalism grounded in relevant, insightful scholarship and empathetic reporting that prioritises the wellbeing of the community above shocking news and statistics.

That's hard to do on Twitter. People who know how to do it well ought to get paid for their labour.
