786 people in the UK died just yesterday. The highest daily number we’ve recorded. How many of those people contracted, or were one contagion link away from someone who went to the pub “one last time” before lockdown came into effect less than 4 weeks ago.
That date was the 13 March, we had 208 confirmed new cases that day, bringing our national total to nearly 800. The government was loathe to harm economic activity and was still touting herd immunity. Now we’re on track to have more deaths than Italy, Spain and Germany combined.
Across the political board we’re all wishing Boris Johnson a speedy recovery, but we can’t lose sight of the fact that it was his government, influenced by Dominic Cummings, that greatly increased the infection rate, deaths and probably his own dire condition.
