Just when British is slowly giving democratic reforms back to Hong Kong, and apparently China at first, seemed to follow that position, Hong Kong people are actually proud to be 'China first'. This can be seen in a survey done during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

However, when Hong Kong wants electoral and democratic reforms, China reluctant to give in. Thus, the Umbrella Movement. The post-Umbrella Movement also saw the waning trust HK people have with the HK central gov and China as a whole.

Then, we have #antiELAB rallies which inspired many other anti-authoritarian movements across the globe. In HK, there were mass arrests, and then some "被失踪", presumably to be dead.

All this under the Carrie Lam's puppet gov, while China CCP is orchestrating a show.

In Malaysia, many media have been infiltrated by CCP. Many tend to side with CCP narratives and many are blatant lies.
