Once this pandemic is over, I truly hope the supportive/giving spirit remains for all those who are isolated due to long term health issues and disabilities, and for those who are key workers.

I hope that people still do hot meal deliveries, and groceries.
It’s been proven that many jobs can be a lot more flexible, with means of working from home. Implement this for Disabled people in employment, don’t see us as burdens on your payroll, when it’s been proven we can still be productive out of office.
There needs to be better mental health phone line alternatives for Deaf/HOH people, and people with speech impediments. Please train volunteers in Sign language and use an online video call service.
Lots of people have relied on streaming services to keep themselves entertained, or audiobooks. However, for people to who are Disabled/Chronically ill/Elderly to have if they are isolated but due to our budgets with benefits etc, it’s something we cannot easily access.
I hope the sense of community doesn’t dwindle, many isolated people have said that since lockdown lots of people who had previously not been in consistent contact have now been more present than ever. While I understand that everyone is busy in “normal” lives...
... the idea of a surge in communication to then drop as soon as things return to normal can be detrimental to the mental health of those people who are isolated long term.

End of thread.
