Been thinking hard abt this. I returned 2 wk in film after spending a yr researching inequity in the industry + wider arts just as Covid hit. what things I read + ppl I spoke 2 advocated 4 have become easier 2 communicate to ppl who never had to consider inequality before but .. https://twitter.com/khankfarza/status/1247806283819839488">https://twitter.com/khankfarz...
Even tho it might make sense to people right now, there& #39;s still gaps in understanding if u haven& #39;t done work to learn + unlearn ways we all benefit in diff ways from how the industry is structured when we participate+without that learnedness we risk going back 2 business as usual
So I& #39;ve decide 2 offer some & #39;Teach Ins& #39; based on my research + experience of being a POC in the film industry, of having tried to assimilate (and failing) + of realising that reform, rebuilding and investment in relationships of care are infinitely more impt than being & #39;included& #39;
If that resonates with you and you would like to connect with others who are invested in exploring how we contribute to reforming and rebuilding so things DON& #39;T go back to normal (because normal never served most people) then email me jemmadesai@gmail.com
