Hello! Here's my country-by-country look at the latest coronavirus stats.

Taking them in the order of most affected, let's start with the US ...
The US: A bad day for new deaths but it looks as if the new cases curve may have been broken. But too early to tell.
Spain: New cases are still running at one-third less than their peak. Spain is still a good news story.
Italy: New cases are now half their peak.

Deaths continue to decline.

This is very good news.
France: I don't know what to tell you about France. The data is too choppy. These are Monday's numbers, so those big increases could equally be unreported cases from the weekend as much as new cases from Monday.
Germany: New cases seem to be trending down.

New deaths are still trending up, but they are a lagging indicator.
China: There are just 1190 active cases in China, and the level is falling.
Iran: In the same way that France is frustrating because there seem to be inconsistencies in their data reporting, the reporting of new cases in Iran looks *too* consistent. Look how smooth that downward curve is. No other country has a decline as neat as that.
The UK: Good news. The curve looks broken. In 3 of the last 4 days there have been under 4000 new cases.
Bonus country, Australia: It's a pretty good story in Oz! Whatever they're doing down there, it's working.
Here's the grid of the top most-affected countries, from Worldometers https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
From Pantheon: US and UK heading to peak this week.
The US: Signs of progress.
India: I'd say there is too little data here to draw a conclusion right now.
Ireland: The momentum of new cases appears to have been slowed. That looks good but it is early days.
