I am fully aware of the strain on the NHS right now and don’t want to sound ungrateful but I am so angry at my GP. They cancelled my appointment - booked 2 weeks in advance as they will only allow phone appointments. They have my phone number, never bothered to contact me .......
...to inform me or ask if I would be happy with a phone appointment. I gave me number making the assumption it would be a phone appointment? The receptionist explains they did NOT cancel my appointment but will be sending me a “cancellation letter” explaining why I don’t have....
...an appointment anymore? Weird! Anyway I ask how I can get an appointment as the reason I booked in advance is so I don’t run out of tablets or go over my sick note. She explains to ring in the morning “like everyone else”

....the same pleasant person. I am made to be VERY aware that my time restricted appointment request is not urgent. Obviously I should wait until corona blows by to back date my sick note several months and just deal with no antidepressants. Due to this lack of urgency.....
...a doctor will be “informed” and will contact me “later”. No name of doctor, no time frame. I understand there is a huge strain on the NHS right now, but I thought we were supporting mental health? My anxiety is 100% worse and I feel like I’ve done wrong for needing a check up!
Rant over - just had to get this off my chest as I’ve been awake over 24 hours dealing with insomnia for this appointment that I booked 2 weeks ago and now have to stay up longer to wait for a phone call with no time frame

Update : doctor has called. Contradictory to the receptionist, she believes I was an urgent appointment and was extremely helpful
In no way was I trying to slag off this NHS in this thread, it think I have just had a disappointing experience with the receptionist
