God sometimes I wanna forget how fucked up US history is

In my class my teacher put on a picture of black people chilling in a pool, and a hotel manager pouring acid into the pool to whiten their skin and to “discourage” them from swimming there
In 1868, 300 African Americans were lynched and hung because they voted, with the sign “This n***** voted”
If you were colored, you had to pay to vote
Philando Castile. That’s the tweet.

Please remember his name
White Shooter: “Dylann Storm Roof is described as ‘quiet and soft-spoken’”

Black Victim: “Michael Brown was ‘no angel’ because he smoked, drank, and rapped”

I wonder what the difference is
My professor just said, “Every time there is a mass shooting, I just hope that the person isn’t a person of color. It just furthers the privileged argument of ‘these people don’t belong here because they don’t look like us’”

FUCKING PREACH
“The media treats white shooters with mental illnesses with a lot of sympathy. How come there isn’t that depth of emotion with black victims?”
Tr*mp called Kaepernick a son of a bitch for disrespecting the flag, but the flag is disrespected all the time:

US FLAVE CODE

Chapter 10. 176C- The flag should never be carried flag or horizontally, but always aloft and free
- This is disrespected right before football games
Chapter 10. 176D- The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery
- This is disrespected all the time

Chapter 10. 176I- The flag should never be used for advertising...
- DISRESPECTED ALL THE TIME
In conclusion, the US has a fucked up history that no one really acknowledges because all the kids are taught the white-washed version of it.

And if you wanted to know the whole story, you have to take a “multicultural” class, which further divides the US as “us” versus “them”
In history classes, although you do learn that black people got lynched, Native Americans got colonized, Chinese people had to build the train rails, you don’t get the full thing

These stories get like what, a chapter?

And then we spend the rest of the time on the Constitution
I’m fed up. The double standards in this country is silent

Anyways, all of this information came from my history professor. His goal is to show the students the hidden side of the US
