Older kids who live at home usually fall out with their parents because they want to exert their independence and autonomy in an environment that requires submission.

E.g You wan dey smoke eegbo for your mama house. Lol, you gotta pack out dear.
You want to keep late nights? That's fine but you would need your own place sweetie. That's because when you live at home, your parents still feel responsible for you. They'd get worried when you aren't back because something could have happened to you. Also, who go open door?
You want to dress anyhow you want and behave anyhow you want? Do you boo but pay rent in your own apartment first. O yes! You live with your folks because you are their child. Proverbs 22:6 still applies.

In fact, na you go lead praise and worship for morning devotion.
It's the same way you'd have rules in your own house. Your friends who are "spending some time" at your place would have to keep to your rules or go spend some time elsewhere.

Anyway, I may be wrong. What do I know? 🤷🏾‍♂️
