A Cautionary Tale "avoid interactions with the JCF at all cost!!!!".
My cousin was admitted to the hospital earlier today & my other cousin accompanied him. All the necessaries went well after the curfew took effect and he called me to pick him up because he would not be able to sleep at the hosp.
I live in Liguanea, so UWI is only moments away.
Knowing that there& #39;s an active curfew, I ensured to have all my ID& #39;s & a reasonable explanation as to why I& #39;m breaching. After explaining the scenario, the officer told me that my cousin needs to "find somewhere and sleep" & asked if "I& #39;m a essential worker to be out".
I explained where I worked & what I do "which I initially expressed, but cut from the video". Which in accordance to the exemptions that the Prime Min. announced "I& #39;m allowed to travel". I only intended to use that card in the event the officer was unreasonable, which they were.
He completely dismissed it, the officer& #39;s response was "where in the law Dat deh and I should guh find it". Not actually reading the exemption, I could not argue with any conviction, so conceded.
He then asked me for my driver& #39;s license "and my luck would have it (it was no where to be found nor was my fitness) - HEART RACING NOW- the other officer is low-key hinting "lock him up".
I took out all my ID& #39;s, cards and explained that I was unaware that my license was missing because upon preparing for the journey I could swear to have it on hand.....he started to become impatient with me. He noticed my company gas card and
concluded that I would be required a driver& #39;s license to have one.
He told me to go into my car and don& #39;t "mek him look round and see mi or else". I didn& #39;t argue, I& #39;m alone and frankly, I don& #39;t trust the police ONE BIT and the other officer was crude so I went home.
My cousin in a desperate attempt, called the Matildas police station and told them that since he& #39;s not able to get a ride home, someone from the station should come pick him up!.
Lol, he& #39;s worst than me. They agreed that I should drive to the station and they will escort me the hospital https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙄" title="Face with rolling eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Face with rolling eyes">. Got to the police station guess who was there "the same officer who told me him nuh wah see mi again https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙄" title="Face with rolling eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Face with rolling eyes">" . Explained the directives and his response was
"that will never happen, nuh todeh, nuh tomorrow" I said officer, I& #39;m confused. Those were the directives from your station. Dialog dialog dialog - another officer told me to follow them.
Now I& #39;m super paranoid, they sped off and I& #39;m wondering what is happening now, y& #39;all not gonna ticket me for speeding so I didn& #39;t chase. Suddenly, they pulled over. I cautiously drove up to the window, (my car in sport mode and ready in the event of any craziness).
They told me to go in front, so I& #39;m like..... Hmm https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤔" title="Thinking face" aria-label="Emoji: Thinking face">. I drove off and maintained a moderate speed. They sped off again "and I didn& #39;t chase". A moment after "they are gone".
All that escalation for NO APPARENT REASON other than to show that they are in charge regardless of reason. I called one of my police friends and he hurried me home > suggesting "don& #39;t trust them" which was telling enough.
After telling me to go in front.... Dem gone wid di wind.
