It’s right and proper that Boris Johnson is on ITU even if he doesn’t need, and never needs, ITU therapies. The logistics of managing a VIP on a general ward are mind boggling. It’s probably less disruptive to the whole system to have him in a tightly secured area like ITU.
And yes, he is a VIP, he’s the leader of a G7 Country. The thought of him, and his security detail on a general ward; with nosey staff, potential assassins and certain journalists trying for a scoop, would be almost impossible to work around.
