It's time to finally rewatch Cowboy Bebop and see if I like it this time
Pretty optimistic about this because of how much my taste has changed since I watched this as a kid. I thought it was boring as sin, but then again I thought the same about Spirited Away and now I love that movie
I can already tell I'm gonna love this because the style and mood is 100% my aesthetic and I'm down for a slow burn spaghetti western sci-fi show
The mystery for me, right now, is why did I love Outlaw Star but not Bebop when I was a kid?

I want more of this type of show
Wait if I like Bebop now does that mean maybe I'd like spaghetti westerns now too? Because I used to hate those too...
OH WAIT IT'S THIS EPISODE! THE BLOODY EYE EPISODE! I didn't know this was episode 1. I've caught every episode just from having Toonami on all night when I was younger, but this is also my first time watching it straight through and not as some bizarre anthology
To be fair none of the episodes I caught ever made me want to watch them all in order from the start or get the DVDs or anything
But the bloody eye episode and the mold in the fridge episode I've always liked. They are some of the only lasting memories I have of the show along with a bit of the ending. This rules
WAIT THIS MIGHT MEAN THAT I'LL LIKE TRIGUN NOW TOO! I've gotta see if I finally like that one too!!!
What does this mean for anime that I liked as a kid but can feel *deep down in my bones* were not actually good? Like Inuyasha

Do I still fuck with Inuyasha? It's been 84 years
It's 2am and I'm using Cowboy Bebop as an introspective vehicle and reaching deep down inside me to question if I still fuck with Inuyasha

What a wild ass time it is
DOCTOR WILY?????
Give him the once over, and do it twice is a joke that probably killed in the 1930s

It still kills tbf
Ballad of Fallen Angels (ep 5) feels like the ending of a long-running drama series
I appreciate the nuance of Spike's character so far. He's a stubborn showoff which makes him kind of a disaster, but he's found a kind of zen-like comfort by being that disaster and just leaning into the skid
...Wait does that mean if I just lean more into being a disaster I become Spike???
May eating literal dog food to tease Ein is the wildest shit ever
Episode 6 of Cowboy Bebop is a gritty preboot of Boss Baby

The first brick in the Dark Boss Baby Cinematic Universe
