@stevenmnuchin1 @stevenmnuchin1 please I am asking for a reply as I have not seen this question come up: We are eligible for the stimulus check as a married couple and AGI for 2019 was around $95,000. We filed our taxes for 2019. We owe $940 which we will pay by July 15th.
So my question is this: since we have had to pay the IRS for 2019 as well as 2018, the IRS does not have our direct deposit information on file. We are in desperate need for this check in order to pay my daughter’s apartment rent since she was laid off March 16, 2020.
Her unemployment claim is still pending and their is uncertainty about when that money will kick in as the process in Florida is truly overwhelmed. The IRS website stated a couple of days ago that an online portal would be available so people could enter direct deposit info.
However, today the IRS website no longer mentions anything about creating an online portal. Please tell me when this portal will be available so I can provide my direct deposit information. We can not afford to wait for a check to “come in the mail”. Thank you for your time.
A “Simple” Web Portal Is Being Created for Those Whose Direct Deposit Information Is Not on File with the IRS. It is expected to go live by late April or early May, according to CBS news. The IRS coronavirus page offers updated information about the portal.
