Something abt it is just so good. The jagged edges, shitty models, muddy textures, robotic anamations, it& #39;s just so good. It& #39;s like a time capsule of what people thought ww2 was like or what was considered cool and modern at the time. It will never be captured again
I really wish little middle market budget games would make a come back so we would have janky games like secret service
One of my favorite examples of a shitty janky budget fps game is soldier of fortune payback. It& #39;s kinda shit bc it ruined a really good series but goddamn it& #39;s so fucking funny. When you shoot a barrel next to an enemy they go fucking flying upwards and it takes a few secondsf
For them to come back down they go up so high, not only that but the game has actually really good understanding of weapons. Like I& #39;m not gonna pretend I know everything about them but like it has a one in a chamber IIRC, there& #39;s alternative reloads and like the reloads are
Actually suprisingly competent? Like they aren& #39;t good anamations for a game released in 2008 but they look decent. Like the slides lock back on empty with pistols which some aaa games didn& #39;t even have at the time. What a weird, janky mess.
Also at the same time there isn& #39;t true iron sights, it& #39;s similar to when you turn off true iron sights in new vegas where the weapon centers on your chest and the cross hair is still there yet it doesn& #39;t do this for optics as those are just jpegs.
