Amid #COVID19, we're connecting more and more with coworkers in digital spaces. The lines can easily become blurred between personal and professional life. Text messages are coming in later and the insta stories you post can be cross-referenced with your teleworking log. 2/5
If u've reserved space 2 connect w/only close friends/family, it's ok to protect it. In the book #VitualCollaboration Reason (2016) shares "teammates should not be pressured to add teammates to private social media accts they are only connected 2 fam & close friends" #COVID19 3/5
I'm not saying u shouldn't add coworkers to your Snapchat & IG. I'm saying, add them if (& only if) you are completely comfortable. Don't feel pressured to accept the request if that space is reserved for content & conversations that are exclusive to fam & friends. #COVID19 4/5
Some of these social media apps are places where we don't have to "be on," and in the height of #COVID19 we need as many spaces as we can to kick our feet up and let our hair down, even if it is virtual. Be well. 5/5
