WHY FILIPINOS SHOULD NOT BE PROUD OF THE NUMBERS

#COVID19
Based on the latest report of Statista Research Department, Italy was able to test 755,000 citizens around the region in battling COVID-19.

Two days ago, the DOH announces that Philippines have just conducted 23,000 COVID-19 tests all around the country in battling this pandemic
Let us do some math here.

If we are very proud to say that we only have 3,764 COVID-19 positive cases compared to 135,586 of Italy, it’s time to wake up!
Because as of now, there are only 23,000 Filipinos tested which equates to 16.37% ratio of the positive cases to the actual numbers of tests conducted in our country, WHICH IS ONLY 0.0219% OF OUR TOTAL POPULATION. It didn’t even reach 1%.
Italy’s population is 60.36 Million as 2019, yet they have already conducted COVID-19 Tests to its 1.25% of its population. That is equivalent to 17.96% ratio of positive cases to the actual number of conducted tests and 1.35% of their total population.
My point? We have approximately 44.4 million MORE CITIZENS than Italy. How was Italy able to conduct more test? You’ve said it, that country is a first world country. Philippines, sadly, is just a third world country. That is why we shouldn’t be proud of the numbers.
Isn’t it illogical to admire incompetencies? How much more if we boast about it?

WE STILL HAVE 104.8 MILLION FILIPINOS UNTESTED.

THIS IS WHAT OUR SENSES SHOULD REALIZE.
