Super Smash Bros. 4 offered a system where you could customize a character's Special Attacks!
It was a new direction to take personalizing your main and had a lot of potential to go along with it! But...
A lot of characters' Custom Moves were simple: Same attack but stronger and slower and Same attack but weaker and faster and don't even get me STARTED on those windboxes!
While characters like Mega Man got customs that are all references! THAT is what I wanna focus on today.

This brings us to our lovable hero from the Mushroom Kingdom: Mario in Smash is made as a beginner character, introducing the player to the world of Smash with relatively balanced stats. I want Mario's Custom Moves to introduce how Custom Moves behave in Ultimate. Let's begin.
.: Neutral Special 2 - Iceball :.
Mario throws out an Iceball that does 3 hits of damage, the final hit having a chance to freeze the opponent depending on their %.
This attack comes out a lot quicker than Fireball due to it's relatively low damage.

.: Neutral Special 3 - Superball :.
Mario throws out a Superball that bounces on ALL surfaces, this includes the stage and even the bottoms of platforms!
The attack comes out slower than the Fireball but has more damage behind it! It disappears 5 seconds after not hitting anyone

.: Side Special 2 - Cappy :.
Mario throws Cappy boomerang style! He returns to him immediately after whacking an opponent, you're able to hold down the special button and have Cappy spin in place at the apex of the throw! Acting as a bouncy platform.

.: Side Special 2 - Cappy :.
This move can be angled slightly up or down as well. However if Mario misses, Cappy will take longer to return to him, Mario in this hatless state takes more damage!! If Cappy flies off stage, he'll reappear in a flash on top of Mario's head

.: Side Special 3 - Hammer :.
STOP! HAMMER TIME!
In this chargeable attack, Mario will reel back his hammer and SLAM it on the foe, dealing moderate damage depending on the charge and stunning the enemy in place for a time based on %. In the air, a fully charged Hammer can spike!

.: Up Special 2 - Luma Spin :.
Mario spreads out his arms and does a quick swipe around himself! This move doesn't go as high as Super Jump Punch, nor does it have a multi-hit. It's one hefty SLAP, dealing a lot of damage and knockback, this move also...

...doesn't put Mario into freefall upon use! He can follow up with any attack but won't gain any height from additional Luma Spins until touching the ground again.
.: Up Special 3 - Rocket Nozzle :.
For a chargeable Up Special... Here's the Rocket Nozzle! This moves travels higher than the Super Jump Punch but has no rising hitbox, charges just like FLUDD and is even capable of spiking foes down upon activation!

.: Up Special 3 - Rocket Nozzle :.
If Mario happens to charge Down Special 1 (FLUDD) He doesn't need to charge for his Up Special as FLUDD is already filled! And vice versa! If you're in active FLUDD user, this is for you!

.: Down Special 2 - Mario Tornado :.
Haven't seen this one in a while huh? This move allows Mario to once again use the Mario Tornado as his Down Special! Even giving him back his old D-Air as a bonus! Melee lovers and FLUDD haters? This is for you!
