Today I emailed 25 schools asking if they’re going to be changing their admissions timeline for COVID-19. As they reply, I’ll update the list here:
Drexel University: Currently there are no plans, they’ll update the website if they change anything
University of California System:
George Washington: Don’t stress about a late MCAT even in a normal year. This year, they are taking extra consideration not to observe MCAT scores until every student has had the chance to take it.
Case Western: Plans are in the works, nothing definitive on changing the timeline yet.
Georgetown: They are giving the same considering to those who submit in July as those who submit in December.
Penn State: Final decisions have not been made yet. Announcement will be on website.
UAB: A late MCAT/Application will not negatively affect you. Deadlines may be adjusted in the future, will be announced on website.
Rosalind Franklin: No changes at this time.
Virgina Tech: Waiting a little longer to see how the pandemic plays out before they make definitive plans. They are now accepting older MCATs (2017 can be sent instead of just 2018+).
Texas Christian: No changes at this time.
Creighton: If you were unable to take the MCAT because of COVID, secondary applications will be based on all other information. For certain circumstances, may delay seconday invite until MCAT is received. Do not delay app because MCAT score not yet available.
Boston University: Holistic Application review, a late MCAT or P/F classes will not negatively impact your application. They will be flexible with the whole process adjust deadlines/interviews as needed.
Thomas Jefferson: no plans yet, told not to worry.
Quinnipiac: first round of screening will be exclusively GPA. No other decisions at this time.
West Virginia: “visit the website”
East Carolina: No changes, but don’t worry about a later application
New York Medical College: A late MCAT is fine, no other information given.
Temple: Submit your app even if you don’t have your MCAT, no acceptances will be given until everyone has had the chance to take the MCAT
University of Michigan:
UNC: “visit the website”
Duke: no changes being made, but submit your application even without your MCAT scores
DO Schools:
UCF: Accepting P/F, keeping an eye on the MCAT situation
Rush: closely monitoring the situation, no decisions made yet
Dartmouth: A July application will not put you at a disadvantage, they view the whole timeline the same
