goodnight twitter. this was a doctored social experiment created for the purpose of making a youtube video.
it will release soon. i got literally all of the results that I expected.

u know what. since people keep responding to something that clearly started out as a joke tweet i might as well just write a thread here instead because I do not have the energy to invest further into this in video form:
— this absolutely shows how quickly misnformation taken as gospel spreads in the community. even after I clarified that it was fake an hour after it was posted, so many people continued to fight over it which just goes to show how little people look into the things that they see
— i dont think ive ever posted bait to this extent because i knew what was gonna come out of this, but every single interaction in that bracket was made specifically to see how people would react. its interesting to see reactions to GALE vs LGPE or even spinoffs like Go vs Pokken
— there’s so much misinformation that continues to float around regarding this series and a tweet like this ultimately proves a point that people just need to look into things a tiny bit more and to question what you see on the internet.
— additionally, the idea that a game ranking would inherently fuel toxic discourse regardless of the results just goes to show that it really doesn’t have to be that way? this community denounces opinions before discussion even starts because it almost always ends up in fighting
— this thread wasnt meant to be a “HAHA YOU GOT BAITED” type thing because I clearly expected people to fall for it, but it’s a reminder that this community needs to be a little more questioning of the posts they see online, no matter how they’re presented.
